Emmet County Warrant Records Emmet County Warrant Records

On this page we lay out what we can help with and where an official Emmet County warrant question actually belongs. Almost every request we hear about belongs with a court clerk, the Sheriff's Office, or the county records office rather than with us. The routing below sends each kind of question to the office that can answer it. Reach the wrong counter and you lose a day. Reach the right one and a single call often settles it.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear one, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice. For any of those, contact the issuing court or the Sheriff's Office directly.

Here is where the questions we hear most often belong in Emmet County:

  • A felony or Circuit Court matter: the 57th Circuit Court at 200 Division Street, Suite 100, Petoskey, at (231) 348-1711, with Circuit files kept by the County Clerk at (231) 348-1744
  • A misdemeanor, traffic, or civil-infraction matter: the 90th District Court at 200 Division Street, Suite G12, Petoskey, at (231) 348-1750, which keeps its own files
  • Agency-side confirmation or service questions: the Emmet County Sheriff's Office enforcement and case-deputy line at (231) 439-8900, published weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM
  • Custody or bond logistics: the correctional facility at 450 Bay Street, Petoskey, at (231) 347-2032
  • A county or Sheriff record that is not exempt: the county FOIA office at 200 Division Street, Suite G70, Petoskey, at (231) 348-0678
  • Resolving or clearing a warrant: a licensed Michigan attorney, working with the court that issued the order, on a recall, a surrender, or bond

The county FOIA coordinator is Priscilla Meyer. The county publishes five business days to answer a written request, with an appeal window of ten business days, and it notes that copying and labor fees can apply and that anonymous requests are allowed.

One caution worth repeating. The Sheriff's Office answers agency questions and serves orders, but it does not recall them. A bench warrant from a missed date is recalled by the court that set the case.
